Ready, Set — Wait
by Rick Warren
“The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in him, so it is best for us to wait in patience — to wait for him to save us.” (Lamentations 3:25-26 GNT)
When life seems to be falling apart, your most “spiritual” decision may be a surprise: Get alone with God, and wait.
The Bible tells us this in Lamentations 3:28, “When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions:?Wait for hope to appear.?Don’t run from trouble. Take it full-face. The ‘worst’ is never the worst” (Lamentations 3:28 MSG).
Most of us don’t know how to “enter the silence.” We’re always anxious. We don’t like to wait on God because it stresses us out. We like to be in control.
What does it mean to wait on God? You sit down, close your mouth, and just listen to God. You may read your Bible. You may pray. But most all, you’re quiet in front of God.
Anxiety comes when we’re not “waiting for hope to appear,” as Jeremiah tells us. God wants to talk to us. He wants to give us the hope we crave. But we’re way too busy. All of our circuits are busy! When he calls, we’re on a different line.
If we want to listen to God and experience the hope he has for us, we have to get alone with him. We must “enter the silence” and be ready to hear him.
Jesus also said this in Matthew 6:6: “Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace” (MSG).
Get honest with God, and your focus will shift from just seeing your problems — no matter how overwhelming they seem — to the grace of God.
Lamentations 3:25-26 says, “The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in him, so it is best for us to wait in patience — to wait for him to save us” (GNT).
Before you go out and try to solve your problem on your own, let God save you. It’s like in those war movies when the enemy is marching toward the hero’s army — which is usually an inferior, ragtag group. The hero tells his men to wait until he gives the order to shoot. Then, at the last possible moment, he yells, “Shoot!” Firing at the right moment means success.
The same is true for us. No matter what obstacle you’re facing, you’ve got to wait for God’s timing. He’ll time your next move perfectly.
So wait and listen.
Talk It Over
- Can you think of a time in your life when acting too quickly led to a disastrous outcome?
- Why is it difficult to wait for God when you’re struggling through difficult times?

Proverbs 26
Just as damaging as a madman shooting a deadly weapon is someone who lies to a friend and then says, “I was only joking.” Fire goes out without wood, and quarrels disappear when gossip stops. (Proverbs 26:18-20 NLT)

Opportunity in the moment
Don’t just let the time pass by. Fill it with richness and meaning.
Every moment is an opportunity to explore, enrich, enjoy and share life’s beauty. A life of fulfillment is a life in which each moment is directed toward a positive, meaningful purpose.
You don’t have to wish for a great opportunity to come your way. Your great opportunity is here and now.
There are plenty of excuses for not making the most of this moment. Yet your best choice is always to create meaningful value, not to merely collect plausible excuses.
Your opportunity is now, so take it and run with it. Feel how great it feels to live with purpose, and you’ll feel like doing it a lot more often.
Wherever you’ve come from, wherever you are, whatever the situation, there’s great opportunity in this very moment. Live it now, and make all of life richer as a result of your choice.
— Ralph Marston

Authentic living
Do you wish to be truly rich? Then be truly you.
Your greatest asset is the unique person you are. Make full and positive use of it to make life truly rich and fulfilling.
Anything you gain through deception is not really a gain at all. It adds nothing to the richness that you seek.
Instead of striving to acquire unfair advantage, make use of the immense, authentic advantage you already have. Make use of your valuable perspective as the unique, authentic person you are.
You have great value, so live it. You have the potential for immense richness, so allow it to come through authentic living.
Give the best of who you are, of what you have, in the service of what you love. That will make your life rich beyond all measure.

Faithful People Serve Others
by Rick Warren
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (1 Peter 4:10 NLT)
God uses my talents to test my unselfishness. You have to decide in life for whom or what you’re going to live. You’re either going to live a self-centered, miserly life or you’re going to live for something greater than yourself — the kingdom of God.
Faithful people don’t live for themselves. They realize that the talents God gave them are not for their own benefit; they’re to make the world a better place.
When God made you, he gave you all kinds of gifts, talents, and abilities. We call it your s.h.a.p.e.: your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences. These five things make you you. And God made you you. There’s nobody like you in the whole world, and he wants you to be you for his glory.God shaped you to serve him, and there’s only one way to do that: by serving other people.
Faithful people realize that their talents are not for their benefit. You may have a talent for art and say that you do it “just because you love to do it.” That’s nice, but that’s not a good enough motive. God didn’t give you artistic ability just so you can love to do it. He gave it to you so you can use your art in some way to help other people.
Some of you have an ability to fix things. Some of you are good at math. Some of you are good at closing deals. Some of you are good at music. Some of you are good at organizing. And some of you are good at trimming and gardening.
God made us all different so that everything in the world gets done. If we all liked to do the same thing, there would be a whole lot left undone.
You are the steward of your talents, and God is watching to see if you use what he gave you effectively on Earth. If you use them effectively on Earth, he’s going to give you more responsibility in Heaven.
Have you ever thought about why didn’t God just create us and take us to Heaven? Why does he put us here on a broken planet for 80 or 90 years? He put you here because life is a test and a trust and a temporary assignment. He’s watching to see if you are faithful to use what he gave you here on Earth to bless other people.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:10, “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” (NLT). God gave you talents, and he’s watching to see if you’re faithful with them.
Talk About It
- How are you using your talents to serve others?
- Test your motives in everything you do. For example, are you serving somewhere to help others and glorify God or so you will receive some notice or glory for yourself?

The Fitspiration 5 With FollowTheLita
by Fran of HeyFranHey.com
Ever wonder what your favorite fitness gurus tell themselves, mentally, to get through their daily workouts? Or how they manage to be so consistent? FollowTheLita (Lita Lewis), an online health and fitness enthusiast who is also currently training for a national fitness competition later this year, shares the 5 things that keep her focused and motivated!
1. Believe In Yourself
“The number one problem that keeps people from winning in the United States today is lack of belief in themselves.” – Arthur L. Williams.
It always starts with you. You are truly the captain of your own ship. If you have a dream, a vision, a goal you must first believe you are capable of achieving it. Too often I hear stories from people wanting and wishing to conquer this, take on that, start this, change that but deeper into the conversation I realize they are only speaking wishful words and that they actually lack confidence in themselves that would prevent them from fulfilling their initial goal! You must understand that your words have power, tremendous power so when you speak them into the world, say them with sincerity and with purpose.
Fear is the culprit here, it is fear that deters us from achieving goals, and hinders our efforts of trying. Many people set big goals but fear failure but when we can identify that it is our own fear that cripples us we can the switch things around and find it without ourselves to believe.
A helpful tip that has worked successfully for me is the act of visualization. When I list my goals and I’m clear on what it is I want to achieve I make it a daily habit, usually in the evenings before bedtime, to visualize myself going through the motions of reaching a goal. I visualize myself planning strategically, acknowledging what I’ll need to sacrifice, factoring in time, costs, literally the entire playbook until I can see myself crossing it out with pen on paper! When we visualize ourselves in pursuit of a goal it becomes increasingly obtainable. When you cannot see the end result and have no clue as to where that finish line is, you put yourself at a huge disadvantage. It is essential to believe everything you dream is possible and that your reality is what you make of it. Visualize, see it, plan it, and then execute on the belief that you have already succeeded.
2. Prioritize Your Life
Busy. We can all relate to this word however it should never be used as an excuse to avoid pursuing what you keep claiming to be a priority. We all make excuses in life, and I am certainly no exception but one day I woke up and abandoned all of them. My body started to transform the very day I decided that what I wanted to achieve was much greater than any excuse I had. I took pen to paper and listed what the most important goals in my life are, health and a total body transformation made the top 3. Right then and there I said I would abandon all excuses that would limit my efforts towards reaching these goals and so it began, my journey towards optimum health.
People commonly ask “how’d you do it?” and my answer is simple; I reevaluated my life’s priorities, I set specific goals and accepted that the journey ahead of me was not going to be easy. I got real with myself. Hard work & discipline will sting you, it’ll hurt, perhaps even test your spirit. The first step is to be fully aware & accept that there will be hurdles you’ll need to jump before reaching any finish line.
Excuses will cripple you. Excuses weaken your will. When your will for change exceeds your comfort to remain the same all sorts of awesome happen but prioritization is the first get-real process to reaching any goal.
3. Clean Eating
Don’t think your training efforts will equal a lean, mean physique without partnering your workouts with a CLEAN DIET. Clean eating consists of eating WHOLE FOODS: vegetables, fruit, lean meats/proteins and complex carbohydrates (or as I like to call em’ Earth’s goodies!) The rule of thumb here is to avoid highly processed foods such as fast foods, junk, highly sugary treats. You also want to stay clear of saturated unhealthy fats, preservatives, bleached or otherwise modified foods.
Personally I avoid the grocery aisles with foods that require packaging. Most things that need to be boxed for a long shelf life are most probably modified with all the bad stuff so they can sustain itself for long periods of time, not good. My love for fresh, natural and organic foods may mean I pay a little extra (sometimes a lot extra) but investing in good, fresh, quality foods that I am essentially feeding my body is paramount to me. As far as I’m concerned there is no better investment.
A few tips to practicing a lifestyle of clean eating include:
Eliminate refined sugar (replace sugar craves with foods that have natural sweetness, eg. Fruits)
Cook healthy meals (Get creative, healthy foods can be deliciously prepared)
Pack healthy meals (My life, I’m a cooler carrier, a freakin’ life saver!)
Makes healthy choices when dining out (There is always “good” on a not-so-great menu)
Drink a lot of water (I’m also a fan of hot green/herbal teas)
Eat 5-6 small meals per day (every few hours)
Eliminate alcoholic beverages (or significantly limits it …do your best!)
Always eats breakfast (start the day right, kick that metabolism into gear with some breakfast)
My advice is to make all of the above a LIFESTYLE HABIT but treat yourself to your craving vices from time to time. Avoiding a little sugary goodness may lead to a binge of pure gluttony so a little treat a few times a week isn’t frowned upon!
4. Train Like You Mean It
Nothing pains me more than seeing people in the gym perform various exercises that are nowhere near challenging enough for change. Call me crazy but I thought a gym was a place to exercise your body, challenge it for change, test your strengths, build lean muscle, burn stubborn fat and promote overall health for yourself! If so, then why are you wasting time in social chit chat?! Why are you curling dumbbells better suited for an infant?! Why are you in the mirror fixing your hair more than you are sweating it out?! C’mon people, it’s time to get serious. Train like you mean it, better yet, get your beastmode on and crank it all the way up! Extraordinary change requires extraordinary effort!
I am an avid gym goer (and that may be the biggest understatement I’ve made all year!) and seeing that I am in the gym a whole lot I pay attention to my fellow gym goers. There are people in the gym that show up just as faithfully as I do and I applaud that sort of dedication however I can’t help but notice a lack of change in their physiques and often wonder why they aren’t seeing change. Now, I understand we all have different goals, I certainly can respect that but when I am approached and asked questions about my training routine it becomes very clear that most people don’t need to be told what to do but more so how to do it, and by this I am referring to intensity! I for one train hard, I like to have a set plan of attack, I go in, I put in work and tap out. It’s intense and is usually fast paced and I never fail to give power punching effort – this is what I notice most lack. Train with purpose, train passionately and approach each and every workout session with a specific plan, you will be surprised how much more efficiently you’ll work and how much faster you’ll see results in your figure.
5. The Beauty & The Beast
There is no reason why you can’t be The Beauty AND The Beast. Somehow women tend to think they need to choose between being one or the other, negative! The stereotype associated with being a gymrat apparently voids a woman from also being a beauty. Personally, I couldn’t think of anything sexier than a woman unafraid of getting dirty in the name of health all while maintaining her feminine glow and grace. Outside of making general excuses, many of us will avoid regular exercise for more ridiculous reasons; I don’t want to sweat out my hair!
I use the word ridiculous because I wouldn’t let a fresh blow out deter me from going hard at some cardio but truth be told this is a very common issue for women as it pertains to training. Ladies, I get it, maintaining that fabulous hair-do is important so my only question to you is, how important? Is it more important than obtaining a body of your dreams? Is it more important that being in tip top shape and in great health? Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize!
I am a big fan of Nicole Packer’s “Save Your Do” headband. Wearing it during workouts helps control the frizz by minimizing sweat absorption. Instead of using your hair as an excuse, look for alternative measures to help prevent what it is you’re trying to avoid. The “Save Your Do” will help do just that. Wrap it up ladies and get busy, cute hair is one thing but a tight body is a guaranteed game changer to get noticed for! Hair Regimen
People ask me all the time what i use on my hair so i wanted to share:
So my hair regimen has been simplified because I don’t have the patience to do all that I was doing in the beginning. Plus my hair is longer than it was so I usually wear little to no maintenance styles. You don’t have to cut your hair you can just continue to get regular trims try to wear your hair in styles that don’t require a lot of heat such as roller sets or rods or buns. I don’t put heat on my hair, the only time I do is when I get my ends trimmed which is about 3-4 times a year, but even then I put a heat protectant on my hair such as grape seed oil or a silicone based heat protectant. I use the following products they are all natural some I purchase online and some in store.
Conditioner/Shampoo:

· Camille Rose Naturals Blue Algae Renew Deep Conditioner: This is the most amazing deep conditioner I have ever purchased this is something I will continue to buy because it works. Sometimes I shampoo my hair and then put this on for 10-15 min rinse out and put on my leave in and style you don’t have to recondition your hair. Word for today is: PERSEVERANCE
Steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose. Continued steady belief or efforts, withstanding discouragement or difficulty.
Heb 10:36 says, " You need to continue, so that when you have done what God wants, you will receive what he has promised. (message bible)
The new life we can have in Jesus is not something that we can ever earn. It is the free gift of God to all who trust in Jesus. Our part is to maintain our *faith, even when life is hard. We must always try to do what God wants. Then we shall receive what God has promised.
God is faithful and we must remain faithful. He never said life was not going to be hard. That is why He gives us a book full of His promises to help us through any trial that may come. He will never give us too much to handle because everything He gives us, He knows we can handle it. He is our Creator and He created us in His image. And He knows everything little thing about us and even some of the things we don't know. And to top it off...HE LOVES US UNCONDITIONALLY!! So how can you not trust Him?
I have told you all many times and every time I see you, that you all have a divine purpose. This is processing time. Processing time does not always feel good because God is removing and repairing. And when He removes He always replace it with something that will help us fulfill His purpose and to allow others to see who He is thru us. The areas that He repairs are areas that are suppose to be there but life may have damaged it to the point that we may see it as being useless. Nothing God makes is useless...it is all GOOD. The one thing you may think is not worthy is probably the main thing that will be used the most.
Don't allow life or situations to make you feel you can't go any further. It is not your job to figure it out...you just need to have faith to know you are in the right place at the right time and God will do the rest. You are all emerging leaders and you all will be great examples of what perseverance looks like!!
Heb 10:36 says, " You need to continue, so that when you have done what God wants, you will receive what he has promised. (message bible)

The Word of The Day
The word for today is: APPRECIATION
Thankfulness or gratitude for something someone has done for you. The recogntion and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.
Proverbs 100:4 says, " Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
...
When I think about where I was and where I am now...I am so grateful! When things around me seems crazy and overwhelming...God reminds me of where I was and just like He got me thur that...He shall and will get me thru this. And it gives me hope and gives me the peace to hold on a little longer. God will never leave us or forsake us and anything He promises has to come to true because He is not a liar of His word.
No matter what is going on ...just hold on a little while longer...because you ARE that MUCH closer to your breakthrough. Just look back and see what He brought you out of before and just remember this situation and any situations that comes along....YOUR GOD IS SO MUCH BIGGER AND ABLE TO HANDLE IT!! AND TELL SOMEBODY WHAT AN AWESOME GOD YOU SERVE!!!! HE DID IT FOR ME AND HE WILL DO IT FOR YOU!!!

Understanding Gifts vs. Fruit - Pt 2
Video:
As Christians, we aren't defined by the gifts God has given us, but rather the Fruits of the Spirit we display. Joyce explains the difference between the two and what scripture says about the character traits of every Believer.

Honor Him First
by Joyce Meyer - posted April 01, 2013
But as for you, the anointing (the sacred appointment, the unction) which you received from Him abides [permanently] in you; [so] then you have no need that anyone should instruct you. —1 John 2:27
This verse isn’t suggesting you don’t need anyone to teach you the Word. Otherwise God wouldn’t appoint some to teach in the body of Christ. But it does say if you are in Christ you have an anointing that abides on the inside of you to guide and direct your life.
Sometimes you give more consideration to what people tell you than to what God has said. You might occasionally ask somebody for their wisdom, but if you hear from God and then start asking everybody else what they think, you are honoring people’s opinions above the Word of God. You need to say, “God, no matter what anybody else says, no matter what my own plan is, if You say something to me, I am going to honor You above anything else.”

When You Feel Like Giving Up
“All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.” (Hebrews 11:39-40, NLT)
It’s not easy to live by faith. We live in a broken world. The weather doesn’t work right. Our bodies don’t work right. Our relationships don’t work right.
When God kicked Adam out of heaven, He told Adam that life would be hard. And it is. There’s a cosmic battle for your life going on inside of you and outside of you. You battle with your own sinful nature. You also battle against Satan himself, who wants nothing more than to “steal, kill and destroy.”
And sometimes it just gets to us. We just want to give up.
But in Hebrews 11 God urges us to hang on because God hasn’t forgotten us and will fulfill His promises one day. He promises to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). He promises to take away our tears (Revelation 7). And He gives us multiple other promises throughout His Word.
Hebrews 11 mentions a variety of biblical heroes who demonstrated faith in God’s promises—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Gideon, Samson and others. Though they endured many difficulties, they kept going in their spiritual journeys.
Then Hebrews 11:39-40 says, “All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us.” (NLT)

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
—1 Corinthians 1:27
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
The Cross is such an offensive symbol when viewed in its most basic and raw form. For God to become human flesh and live among us is unbelievable enough. For God to be subject to the vagaries and rigors of mortality and human needs is unthinkable. For God to endure the indignities and inhumanities of the Cross is preposterous. But, that is the Gospel. What appears to be foolish, weak, and offensive has the power to re-make us and inspire us to unparalleled faith. When we come to the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus, we come to the impossible which was accomplished by God's grace for us and in us. Only God would bring us salvation in such a way.
My Prayer...
Holy and gracious Father, I know that the Cross may be silly to some people. I know that many people who wear the Cross as a symbol don't honor it. But Father, I confess that Jesus' willingness to go to the Cross for me is powerfully convicting and amazingly reassuring. Thank you for this gift of love and sacrifice of grace. In Jesus' name. Amen.
